Bluebonnet to upgrade power lines in Washington County

Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative members near Old Washington and Chappell Hill in eastern Washington County will experience temporary power outages Wednesday, April 3, as crews complete an upgrade to electric distribution lines. The upgrade will increase the voltage carried through the power lines and is needed to continue to reliably serve the growing demand for electricity in the area.

Bluebonnet will interrupt power between 9 and 10:30 a.m. to 593 members in the Doe Run Farms subdivision and near FM 1155, FM 2193, Hughes Lake Lane, Harry Franklin Road, Felder Road, Kolkhorst Schultz Road, Running River Lane, Running Valley Lane and Borgstedte Road.
“Safety is our top priority on every job,” said Matt Bentke, Bluebonnet’s general manager. “We will have about 100 Bluebonnet employees and contractors, and about 60 vehicles in the area working to complete this conversion with as little impact on our members as possible. We take every precaution possible to make these jobs safe, and ask that residents in the area be cautious and aware of our crews.”

Bluebonnet will also call every member who will be affected by the outage to inform them of the day and period of time they will be without power.
