Johnny Sanders, Manager of Community and Development Services

Bastrop native Johnny Sanders is Manager of Community and Development Services for Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative. He and his team represent Bluebonnet throughout the year by working and providing resources to area public events. Johnny and the community and economic development representatives, whom he supervises, work closely with commercial and large Bluebonnet customers to keep their power running safely and properly. Johnny studied business management at North Texas State University and the University of Texas at Austin. He was a Bastrop county commissioner for nearly 16 years, developing subdivision regulations and working with developers to improve guidelines. He also served on the Bastrop city council, was president of the Bastrop school board and holds a real estate broker's license. He and his wife, Shawnda, have two daughters and one grandchild and live in Bastrop, where Johnny's family has lived for four generations. Johnny was voted Man of the Year in 2013 by the Bastrop Chamber of Commerce.
