PCRF - Power Cost Recovery Factor

To understand your electric bill, it is helpful to understand how rates affect your bill. On your bill the Energy Charge plus PCRF (Power Cost Recovery Factor), equals your Total Charges.

The following example is for the residential rate:

The Energy Charge consists of:

  • Wholesale Power Charge - ($0.072674 per kWh) - to purchase power
  • Bluebonnet Service Charge - ($0.023948 per kWh) - electric system expenses
  • Member Charge - ($22.50 per month) - monthly expense for each meter
    (Meter expenses include meter reading, billing, payment processing, etc.)

The following equation shows how these elements add up to your Total Charges.

Wholesale Power Charge = A
Bluebonnet Service Charge = B
Member Charge = C
X = kWh used

AX + BX +C = Total Charges
