About the AuthorMark Rose is the General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative. Mark offers extensive experience in leading both private- and public-sector organizations, with an expertise in government and politics.

Prior to coming to Bluebonnet, Mark was a public-affairs consultant who represented clients before regulatory agencies, local governments and the public on electric, water and environmental issues. He also served as president and CEO of Public Strategies, Inc., an international public-affairs firm. For the decade of the 1990s, Mark was general manager and CEO of the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA), a conservation and reclamation district providing electric service to more than one-million Texans throughout 53 counties. Earlier in his career, Mark was a partner in a media and public relations firm, a two-term elected member of the Austin City Council (1983 - 87); and a senior executive for a state association. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Texas and a Master’s in Liberal Arts from St. Edward’s University.

Mark lives in Bastrop, Texas and is active in local affairs. He served two terms on the Bastrop ISD School Board, and from 2001 to 2004, served as President. He has three children and two grandchildren.
